India takes on Pakistan in a do or die match which is almost a semi final for India. India has to beat Pakistan to stay alive in this edition of Asia cup. India started the series very well with a 50 runs win over Srilanka but that followed by a humiliating defeat against Bangladesh which also featured 100th international century of Sachin Tendulkar.
Mirpur track promises to be a high scoring match which implies we might see loads of runs flowing from the bats of Virat Kohli, Sachin, Gambhir, Raina, Dhoni, Misbah, Afridi, Younis Khan and many more. Bowlers may have a hard time again on this flat track.
Indians have got good starts and they have also scored well in the death overs. But the batsmen seem to be over cautious in the middle overs slowing down the run rate to a large extent. That prevents them to score big enough to pressurise the opposition on the flat pitch. Bowling continues to be a worry for India where none of the bowlers viz. Pathan, Kumar, Ashwin, etc prove to be fatal to the batsmen.
Shahid Afridi may come out with flying colours against India. Fans are still awaiting a big knock from Younis Khan. The openers as well as the middle order batsmen have fared pretty well for Pakistan in this Asia Cup. Bowling in presence of Gul, Ajmal and Cheema looks very balanced.
A must win match for India will make this game very interesting and India will also have depend on Srilanka to clinch a win against Bangladesh in last match; if India has to reach the finals. India’s loss against Bangladesh has turned this Asia Cup suddenly into an interesting affair.
