After the conclusion of another successful IPL edition, Indian cricket turns its eyes onto International cricket. This time Indian team will tour to Bangladesh for a bilateral cricket series that would include one test match and three ODI matches. Under the new split captaincy, Indian team will be lead by Virat Kohli in test match while MS Dhoni will lead the team in the ODI series.
Considering the good form of Bangladesh team, Indian selection team hasn’t taken a chance this time. Rather than sending a second string team they have pitched in a full strength squad against Bangladesh. Although Bangladesh would be wary of this squad they would also be contented with the fact that teams like India aren’t taking them lightly anymore. Infact an experienced spinner like Harbhajan who was out of the team since 2013 is picked for this series. He will play in the test match that would be held at Fatullah beginning from 10th June 2015.
Bangladesh team did pretty well in the 2015 cricket world cup by qualifying to the knock out stage. They have few inspirational wins that have boosted the team’s morale. Not to forget they also handed over a whitewash to Pakistan in the recently concluded ODI series in Bangladesh.
Here is the full schedule for your reference:
1st Test – 10 to 14 June – Fatullah
1st ODI – 18 June – Dhaka
2nd ODI – 21 June – Dhaka
3rd ODI – 24 June – Dhaka

This series would be highlighted for the retirement of an icon, Kumar Sangakkara. He has achieved great feats in International cricket and done a lot for his team. He is simply one of the best batsmen and wicketkeepers you would ever see. But now its time to sign off for him. He will play the first two test matches in this series and bid a farewell to International cricket.
On the other hand this test series means a lot to young captain Virat Kohli. Since the Sydney test when Dhoni retired from test cricket, Kohli hasn’t got too many opportunities to try his hands on to test cricket captaincy. The one off test match in Bangladesh was affected by rain. And we can expect a lot of rain interruptions in this series as well.
Kohli has made his aggressive intent clear yet again. He will play five specialist bowlers and he knows that would increase the pressure to score runs on the top five batsmen. Rahane and Shikhar are in good form. Rahul has a point to prove. Rohit Sharma, Saha and Kohli need to regain their batting form at the earliest.
